A man has been arrested on suspicion of drugs and weapon offences following warrants led by the East Herts Neighbourhood Policing Team in Bishop’s Stortford and Much Hadham. On Thursday 19 March, East Herts officers forced entry to a property in Waytemore Road, Bishop’s Stortford, and two addresses in Windmill Way, Much Hadham, after intelligence linked them to drug supply. Officers found and seized a quantity of Class A & Class B drugs, offensive weapons, mobile devices, and other drug paraphernalia. The East Herts NPT were joined by officers from Broxbourne NPT, the constabulary’s Operational Support Group (OSG), East Herts CID, the BCH Dog Unit, the Operational Support Unit, the Rural Operational Support Team, and officers from the Eastern Regional Special Operations Unit (ERSOU). Inspector Nathan Howson from the East Herts NPT said: “This proactive operation was a combined effort between our neighbourhood policing team, local officers, and the OSG. Thanks to this coordinated work, we have taken a significant amount of drugs and several offensive weapons off the streets. “Our neighbourhood officers play a vital role in this, using their close relationships with residents and understanding of local issues to help us identify those who pose the most harm to our communities. “We want our residents to feel confident that we are listening and that we will always act on the intelligence and concerns you share with us. You are our extra eyes and ears, and the information you provide directly helps us make these kinds of impactful interventions. By continuing to work together with our neighbourhood policing team, we can keep East Herts a safe and welcoming place for everyone who lives, works, and visits the area.” A 35-year-old man from Bishop’s Stortford was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs and being in possession of an offensive weapon. He has been released on police bail, while enquiries are continuing. If you have information about drug crime in your neighbourhood, please report it. You can do this online at herts.police.uk/report, via web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or by calling the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org. | ||
